Throughout 2018 Wide Open Road Art was supported by Mount Alexander Shire council to develop the WORA Conversation series, featuring a range of artists from around the Castlemaine region and further afield. Many have shown with Wide Open Road Art, some are very established and others emerging. All of them provide unique, sensitive and often profound insights into how they make their practice work.
The series was a roving one; we hooked up our mobile art space (the float!) and grabbed all sorts of impromptu moments to have informal discussions with some of our favourite artists. In particular we wanted to hear about what the sustainability of their practice, what broader conditions (material, social, community or otherwise) had an impact on this, and what they thought might lie ahead. We hope you enjoy their insights as much as we did.
After you watch, please do take our very short survey to help us further the series.
